Healing Gallery

Nature isn’t just our inspiration—it’s also our responsibility. We use art not only to reflect nature’s beauty, but to advocate for its protection. Our pieces highlight the environment, encouraging awareness of the challenges it faces and inspiring care for the world beyond the canvas.

"Where Nature ends"

By: Caitlin Yoon

Marc Chagall once said, great art picks up where nature ends. All art starts in the living world and goes beyond what Mother Nature can create. Great art doesn't just create new worlds; it also teaches and inspires. Art is a platform for sharing ideas, and it can be the start to bringing nature back to life. Now, art is the tool I use to remind my audience about protecting the environment.

"Courageous Step"

By: Hyunseo Joy Ryu

This piece was based on a personal experience. I had to move from Korea to America in middle school and felt very anxious about the changing environment. There are a lot of people in this world suffering from depression and anxiety. They usually start with fear, and it is hard to cut them off. However, when they just take one step forward with courage and belief, they can find the light hidden behind the darkness. Even though it takes time to get over the negative feelings, they can overcome their fear by just believing in themselves a little bit more. This artwork expresses hope and a positive change in feelings.

"Apple Tree"

By: Emily Kim

In this piece, I combined a painting of an apple tree with recycled food packaging and LEGO pieces to explore the relationship between nature and the materials we use every day. By giving these materials a new purpose through art, I wanted to show how creativity can help us rethink waste and find new ways to care for our environment.

"Fragile Sanctuary"

By: Caitlin Yoon

This painting explores the symbiotic relationship between humans and coral reefs, imagining a world where people live in harmony with these ecosystems. While coral reefs have shown the ability to adapt to changes in the ocean, the pace of environmental disruption caused by human activity has become too fast for them to keep up. This reflects how human actions often disregard the needs of the Earth. To truly protect coral reefs, we must shift our impact from harmful to healing. Choosing to live in balance with the environment so that both nature and humanity can thrive. In the end, it’s up to us to restore what we’ve damaged.

"Blooming Mind"

By: Caitlin Yoon

My mind blooms like a field of flowers. As I grow, new flowers blossom, and I find another perspective about myself. My mind does not stop growing, and it always strives to bloom into the brightest flower. As flowers start as buds, every new layer of myself needs time to grow before making me into the best version of myself.

"The Last Meal"

By: Hyunseo Joy Ryu

This piece is a compelling work that shows the dangers the animals are experiencing because of pollution and global warming. This artwork expresses the pain South African penguins and Hawaiian Monk seals are getting because of plastics left in the sea. It is named The Last Meal since it could be the last meal for the penguin by eating harmful plastic waste. The chandelier made out of bones implies that a lot of animals have been killed by plastic waste and pollution. This piece presents the change in climate and the way of life humans and animals are going through.

"My Nature"

By: Caitlin Yoon

My nature is to reach out into the unknown. Every petal protects me, but holds me in place. Even as the tall petals envelop and shield me from the unknown, I must reach out into the light. Every petal is a layer of myself that I must outgrow by leaving comfort behind. Reaching out of the flower, I can find my own purpose.

"Pyromancy"

By: Caitlin Yoon

As the world rapidly changes, humanity’s collective arrogance blinds us to the harm we continue to inflict on the Earth. In my painting, I reflect on how nature has been overlooked and devalued as a result of our relentless self-interest. Consumed by the pursuit of success, we’ve lost sight of the planet’s worsening condition. This issue is especially urgent among younger generations, who are constantly immersed in social media. Surrounded by distractions, many fail to recognize the severity of our environmental decline and continue to live passively, taking little meaningful action. Through this painting, I aim to highlight the dangers of this ignorance and emphasize the need for awareness and education. Only then can we begin to truly protect and preserve our Earth.

"Daughter of Smoke"

By: Caitlin Yoon

Society pollutes the Earth, ignoring how it comes back to ruin our lives. In our near future, the world will be littered and taken over by man-made pollution. Even if you can’t see the changes from day to day, appearances can be deceiving. When the air looks clear, people assume it’s clean, while data show that the burning of fossil fuels is at its height. Her clothes are factories, her hair is smoke, and her world has undoubtedly been turned upside down. Her face is forever distorted because pollution has made the world crooked.
